Barometer, 9 a.m., 1007.3 millibars. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS. Slight disturbances have been moving southeastwards across the North Island. A new depression is now located to the south, where barometers are lowest. On Saturday northeasterly winds predominated, but since then winds have tended north-westerly and are now rather strong about Cook Strait and Westland. Saturday's weather was mainly fine but about the centre of the North Island it was cloudy with intermittent rain. Yesterday, conditions were more generally dull and humid and moderate rain fell at times in the North Island and in Westland. This morning the weather over most of the country is cloudy with some light scattered showers, while conditions arp unsettled in the south-west. Temperatures -Ijave been mild to warm.
