Forecast for Wellington:—,

Light to moderate and variable winds, with some morning low cloud or drizzle. Otherwise fine and warm.

The Dominion forecast issued at noon today for the Dominion "as a whole ii for east to north winds prevailing, fresh in the far north and on parts of the east coast, but mainly light or moderate. Cloudy to overcast weather is to be expected in the northern half of the North Island, with occasional light rain,; but otherwise still mainly" fair to fine and warm weather, withsome morning fogs again probable on the east coast of the South Island. Unsettled conditions probably JwiW develop later in the far south-west. Barometers have been falling slowly over the whole Dominion, while the disturbance located in the north has made practically no movement. Strong north-easterly winds have continue^ to .. blow in the Auckland peninsula. Elsewhere light to moderate winds between ■ east and north have predominated. In the north the weather has been cloudy : to overcast with some scattered rain, chiefly in the Auckland province. Falls reported at 9 o'clock this morning were: —Russell 20 points, Kaipara 21 points, and Opotiki 2 points. Elsewhere, apart from low cloud in the morning/the weather has been inainly fair to fine. This morning there were; patches of fog or mist on the east^coast. of,the South Island, but there was little change in the general- weather conditions. Temperatures continue mild. There was a strong north-easterly wind in Auckland yesterday, and the weather was overcast with light rain at times, amounting to II points. Temperatures were mild, the maximum being 70deg and the minimum 61.5deg. There was no change in tfre weather during this morning. Yesterday morning was dull in Wellington, but the clouds quickly lifted, and by the afternoon the weather was brilliantly fine. The sunshine registered was 7.5 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 71.4deg and 58.6deg. The sky was cloudy this morning and a trace of drizzle fell, but the weather improved rapidly and became sunny. There was little wind, but the breezes tended northerly. Christchurch skies yesterday were overcast with low cloud, but they cleared in the late afternoon and evening. The wind was north-easterly, mainly light, but freshened during the afternoon. Temperatures were mild, being within the range of 67.4deg and 60.1deg. This morning the weather was much the same as yesterday, overcast and hazy with moderate northeasterly breezes. The day was rather cloudy but fine in Dunedin yesterday, the winds being light to moderate northerlies. Temperatures were mild. The weather this morning was overcast and foggy.
