JUNIOR TENNIS
The junior national tennis championships yesterday entered into the semi-flnals stage and as all the best juniors of the country were playing some really good tennis was seen. Although a great variety of strokes cannot be expected of juniors it was a promising sign to see how well practised were the basic strokes. Practically all the senii-tinalistb had good drives' both backhand and forehand and a few of the more experienced showed thai they could volley to some purpose. Altogether the play of the juniors has given a great deal of encouragement to those who have coached, them, and the generally high standard holds out promise for the future of New Zealand tennis.
Results of further semi-flnals yesterday were as follows :—
