DROP IN DEFICIT
WEEK'S TAX PAYMENTS
(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 18, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, January 17. Payers of income tax last'week contributed £32,322,000 to the national revenue. In the corresponding week of last year the total was £19,551,000. . The total ordinary revenue for the week showed a surplus of £37,289,000 over the. week's expenditure, reducing the deficit to date to £280,247,000. The ordinary revenue for the financial year to date totals £632,697,000, iwhile the- ordinary expenditure amounts to £912,944,000. The total expenditure from the loan account stands at £362,662,000.
