SUGGESTION BY BUDGE

'■ ■ 0 (Received January 18, 10.30 a.m.) MIAMI (Florida), January 17. J. D. Budge, in an interview, stated that interest in amateur tennis was fading because amateur standards were becoming lower. He suggested open tournaments patterned on the Davis Cup style with H.. E. Vines, H. Nusslein, F. Perry, W. .., Tilden, L. Stoefen, and himself opposing R. Riggs, J. Bromwich, G. Cramm, D. McNeill, B. M. Grant, and E. T. Cooke. Budge believes the professionals would win easily but thinks the tournaments would be a start in the right direction.
