TRACING AIR CASUALTIES

An information department to assist in tracing casualties and captures among airmen of all countries engaged in war is being prepared by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale, the^international authority in sporting flying. This is being done in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross and League of Societies of the Red Cross. Information- secured will be communicated to the officially recognised aero club of each country at war. In Great Britain the authority is the Royal Aero Club. Mr. Harold E. Perrin secretary of the Royal . Aero Club, explaining the objects of the organisation, recalled the fact that in the last war airmen of the forces engaged retained contact with each other through the medium of their aeronautical interests and activities. "Often during the war pilots of both sides gave proof of the existence of a bond of understanding and appreciation. They flew over each other's country, at some risk, to drop messages giving information about the fate of pilots brought down in their territory." ;
