FIRE BRIGADE CALLS
The Wellington Fire Brigade was called out 120 times during November, or four times-'a day on the average. 'The actual fires numbered 71, 42 of these being gorse. grass, or rubbish fires. Of the false alarms, 34 were considered justifiable, and 15 malicious. 1 The appointment of J. Philp to the j position of deputy superintendent was j confirmed at today's meeting of the | Fire Board. I Three members of the brigade were presented with diplomas from the Institution of Fire Engineers.
