NO DEFENCE ACTION
SOCIAL SECURITY INQUIRY
(Special to the "Evening Post.") I ' AUCKLAND, December 15. Further investigation, concerning the population of New Zealand are stated to be in preparation by . the Social Security Department, and, although official information is lacking, it is said that all the necessary forms for the inquiry are nearly ready for issue, j That anj' inquiry that may be made j has , nothing to do with the armed '> forces either for home defence or for iservice overseas was made clear by the| I Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones,; in a telephone conversation with "The Herald" yesterday. Mr. Jones said that, while it was intended to launch an appeal for further recruits for the second echelon of the Special Force within the next few! days, the taking of a register of the i man-power for recruiting purposes had ; not been considered eithei by him or [by the Government.
