"A DANGEROUS PRACTICE"
"The Railway Department consider this a very dangerous practice; two people have been killed in this way ! during the past 18 months to two [•years " said Constable E: Burnett, giv- : ing evidence in the Magistrate's: Court yesterday at the hearing of a number of cases concerning trespass on rail!way property at Wellington. It was i stated that all the defendants had 'crossed the railway lines contrary to ' the regulations. Samuel Arthur Beck, Ijohn Cleland Frew, and James Frank {Cooper were each charged with quitting a train in motion and with trespass. They were fined 10s and costs for each offence. Richard Albert Donald Coleman, George Karris Fredlick, and Colin Newport were fined 10s and costs each for trespass.
