Colfort, who has been purchased by a Wellington sportsman, a newcomer to the game, is now a member of P. Burgess's stable, and his work this morning was a couple of rounds of j pacing. Tooley Street, who has re- j sumed after a short let-up, was also j confined to pacing. Another fresh i horse on the, tracks is Great Legion,! who has reverted to T. R. George. I Boomerang, who ricked himself in his stall early in the week, is unlikely to be racing over the holidays. Trench Law was not galloped this morning, but the reason in his case was only that he has had a number of races recently. On the two-year-old grass track, next to the rail, Absolve (Wilson) did half a mile in 50sec. Lady Govern (J. McCauley) beat the Hunting Song— Hulomee filly (D. Kelly) .' by three lengths over three furlongs in 40sec. (Croupisino (Foster) and Locrian (Burgess) were over a length ahead of Beau Coureur (Wilson) after run- J ning three furlongs in 37sec.
