MEW CHARGED AND
REMANDED

TAUMARUNUI, December 4
j Recently the Taumarunui police carried out raids on several premises in Taumarunui and Manunui and seized a quantity of liquor which they stored at the police station.'Later the station was broken into and most of the liquor removed. " Detective J. Murray, Wanganui, and the local police have been investigating, and two men, James Braithwaite, labourer, aged 30, and George White, j labourer, aged 33, were arrested today and chargedjjefore Justices with stealing on November 26 100 bottles of beer and a quantity of whisky of a total value of £17 19s, the property of the Government. The accused were remanded till December 12. Bail was
