SUDDEN CHANGE
BOWLERS' BAD LUCK
Bright was the spectacle at the Wellington Bowling Club this morning, when 120 competitors played through the first round of the club's one-day tournament. It was a different picture when, during the second, round, the bowlers sought shelter from the rain. Hopes •of unwelcome visitation being brief were not realised, and eventually, the bowlers, most of them quite unprepared for a wetting, were quite satisfied to call it a day—and a dismal one at that. The tournament was abandoned after some progress had been made with the second round. It was most disappointing, as the occasion, with.3o fours taking part, was rated, as one of the biggest of the kind on record.
