HEALTH CARNIVAL AT THE V.M.C.A.
. Health, in all its aspects will tie shown at the Y.W.C.A. next Thursday. The evening has been planned by a. committee oi: representatives from all the gymnastic classes, and aims to point out the various forms of-healthful living and to show how essential physical fitness- is to the modern woman and girl At the carnival visitors . can find out if they are wearing the right shoes, what they/should weigh according to height, have a posturegraph taken, and see the parade of women s sports wear through the ages. In the gymnasium, groups will perform rhythmic Danish exercises and folk dancing in gaily-coloured costumes. Skits to portray the need for healthier living will be dramatised, the employer and the employee and women at afternoon tea discussing health. Then there will be the humorous shadow screen, portraying the right and wrong way of standing, walking, and sitting. Finally there will be a ceremony to health, in which physical fitness will be traced from the time of the early Greeks to the present time.
