CAMP ENTERTAINERS

CONCERT FOR FORT DORSET MEN

The Bowling Club pavilion at Seatoun was well filled on Thursday evening when the' executive committee of the Official Camp Entertainers arranged an entertaining evening for the men at Fort Dorset.

The programme was arranged by Miss Gwynneth Lewis, and there were items to suit all tastes. Mr. Ron Wakelin introduced the performers and then himself performed. His very humorous monologue was vociferously encored. Miss Gwynneth Lewis sang "Roses of Picardy," the men singing with her. Mr. East conducted a rollicking community sing, this proving so popular that, with the assistance of typed words, the audience was able to join in each number in no uncertain manner. Mr. East also contributed two songs. Miss Melva Duncan performed a delightful tap dance. Guitar items and songs were given by Alan Wakelin, and Mrs; M. Millar had to repeat her elocutionary number.

It was a most informal concert and all the more enjoyable for that reason. Lucky numbers were drawn, these being won by Gunners Bredner, Downing, and Jock Lancaster.

Bombardier Hasset led the boys in a good old sing,; and then thanked the hon. organiser and hon. secretary of the Official Camp Entertainers for making such excellent entertainments available for the men in the various camps. He especially thanked Miss Gwynneth Lewis and her concert party, and called for cheers, which were heartily given. Others in the party wore Misses C. McDonald, S. Watson, J. Rust, M. Long, B. Long, R. Marchant, and M. Duncan. All the accompaniments were played by Mrs. Hardie Boyes.
