Commander G. Dennistoun arrived from the south by the steamer express today. ■ The Leader ■ of. the Opposition (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) left today for the Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay districts. He expects* to be in Napier and Hastings on Monday and in Dannevirke and Carterton on Tuesday. He plans to return to the South Island on Wednesday night: , .--■■■ y

Major J. G. McNaught and Lieutenants W. Mason and T. R.- Hawthorn, who are on the teaching staff of the Hutt Valley High School, will go sinto camp on December 4 as members of the Special Force. They were last evening granted leave of adsence by the Board of Governors, who will keep their positions open for the term of their absence, by appointing relieving teachers. The loss of these teachers will be keenly felt by the school.

Dr. J. C. Duncan, of the Government Sanatorium. Rotorua, arrived in Wellington this morning.

Captain C. D. Bryson, who has been acting as Adjutant to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment, proceeded to Burnham Camp on Monday evening to join the Machine-gun Battalion of the Special Force as Quartermaster.

Mr. F. W. Doidge, M.P., is on a visit to Australia.

Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Anderson left* for Nelson today by plane to attend the Nelson College sports. They expeot to return next Wednesday.

Mr. C. M. Bothamley, Clerk, of Parliaments, accompanied by Mrs. Bothamley, arrived from Auckland today by the Limited express.
