NEW SOUTH WALES DISPUTE
SYDNEY, November 2.
More than a dozen northern collieries are idle today because of a strike by 300 members of the Ariialgamated Engineering Union who are demanding a 40-hour week. The men involved are those employed in the power-houses and in the maintenance of mine machinery.
The hold-up is? receiving consideration by the combined mining, unions in Sydney today.
