HASTINGS,' November 2. / Three years' reformative detwtioa! ahd seven years'' probation wert' imposed by his Honour Mr. Justice Bliit* in the Supreme Court, Napier* today: on Fred Ratpru Kirk, who appeared ,'. for sentence after- having pleaded guilty in- the Lower Court to. charges ,of the theft of mailbags and breaking and entering, and theft. The charges' arose out of the recent destruction bjf, fire of the Morere 5-Post Office. "This appears to me •to be a case which-1 must meet with very strong punishment; I am very sorry, about . that, because you seem to be an in* dustrious worker and a good father* '. said his Honour to the prisoner.
