UNION OIL AND SOAP DIVIDEND.
A net profit of £4057, after reserving £3820 for land, income, and social security taxes, and £1644 for depreciation, is reported by the Union Oil, Soap, and Candle Co., Ltd., Auckland, for the year ended September 30 This compares with £4873, after deduction of £2500 for taxation and £1681 for depreciation in the previous year. The directors recommend a final dividend of 9d a share, making, with the interim distribution of 6d a share made in May, a total of Is 3d a share for the year, an unchanged rate. This year's dividend requirement is £4687, which will leave £1452 to be carried forward, against £2082 brought in.
