KARORI CLUB

A start has been made by the Karori Bowling Club with its competitions for the season, and the first day of Henderson Cup play found more competitors offering than could be accommodated. Initial winners in this event were:—Skips. Hamilton, Neilson, Piatt, Field, Gilbert, Cattanach, and Dempster; No. 3's, Starr, C. Holden, Chambers. R. Thomson, W. Holden, Dixon, and Maynard; No. 2's, Coulter, Taylor, Best, Henderson, Fletcher Kean aud Scott; leads, Staples, Southward, Dry den. Ball, P. Crawfoi'd. Wilkinson, and Oldbury-Jones, ■ Newcombe, Hart, Myerscough, and Cooper (s) drew with Harper. Fisher, Wilkie, and Dyett. Entries for the club championships and handicap have closed. In the champion fours (of which eleven are entered) the first round fixtures are:— Cooper (s) y. Gilbert (s). Dyett (s) v. Field (s), Hamilton (s) v. Crawford (s), Adams (s) v. Thompson (s), Taylor (s) v. Dunbar (s), and Gandar (s), a bye.
