VISITOR'S PRAISE

APPEAL TO AUSTRALIANS

Warm praise for all that he had seen was expressed by Sir Norman rNock, Lord Mayor of Sydney, who is at present in Wellington,; after a visit to the Centennial Exhibition yesterday, in company: with Mr. T,. C. .-A. Hislop, chairman of'directors : of the .Exhibition Company, and: others.;. "I was very impressed by. the layout of the Exhibition-generally, and feel that when all the arrangements are completed' it will make a fine spectacle," said Sir' Norman; The New" Zealand Government was to be congratulated on its showing, and visitors to the Exhibition would, be, given a splendid idea of; the advance in rural; activities and' the growth of secondary - industry"- in the v Dominion. Sir * Norman was particularly interested in the women's . section and the bri-; ginality and initiative shown in its1 lay-out and general appeal. He thought -that Australian visitors ?would gain an excellent impression of the growth of New Zealand, but expressed the view that some relief in the existing travel restrictions might be necessary to encourage 'more Australians ito cross the Tasman -than were at'present likely to make the trip for the Exhibition.

Sir.Norman'will attend the opening of the Exhibition on/Wednesday next as the official representative of Sydney. ■ •
