FRIESLAND RESUMES
(Special from "Limited.")
HAWERA, October 31
The appearance of the handicaps for the Stratford Meeting has quickened interest in the work of several Hawera candidates, and a big representation of the centre is assured.
The hurdlers Student Prince and Disturbed have had a good respite and have freshened up. Both have schooled well and are not harshly weighted at 10.7 and 10.3 respectively. Friesland is listed to compete at Stratford and is standing up to his work so far, but has not yet been seriously tried out. A good effort can be expected from Kilometre in the near future, for he is shaping particularly well on the track and the Stratford course will favour him.
A couple of two-year-olds in Calliope and Alexcelia figure in the juvenile handicap on Saturday, and they are useful customers. Ramleh, Veldette, and Chief Lord should show improved form as a result of their outings at Wayerley.
