AIR-RAID ALARM
BRITISH TROOPS' FIRST
EXPERIENCE

LONDON, Monday Night.
British troops on the Western Front had their first air-raid alarm since their arrival in France. The warning was given about midday, and lasted about three-quarters of an hour. No enemy aircraft came over that part of the front where the special correspondent with the British Expeditionary Force was stationed, but the sound, of distant gunfire was heard.
