A miniature mountain disturbing the even contour of the wrestling mat at the Wellington Town Hall last night puzzled the officials until its nature was revealed. The obstruction was discovered during the preliminaries, and steps were taken to deal with it before the main bout commenced. The police were the first to investigate, and a "probe" was instituted with the aid of an iron bolt, the subsequent diagnosis being that part of the supports had become displaced. The caretaker and his staff then got to work and rolled back the canvas. A long arm did the rest, coming out triumphantly with a fair-sized block of wood, which proved to have been the "nigger in the sawdust."
