LONDON, October 29.
It is reported from Prague that four persons were killed, many injured, and 800 arrested following clashes between Germans and Czechs during the celebration of the twenty-first anniversary of the foundation.of the Czech Republic.
I Shots were heard in several sections of the-city during the night, and demonstrations lasted until dawn. The German police threw a cordon around Wenceslas Square to prevent demonstrations, but this did not prevent Czechs wearing national j colours and "Masary.k caps" breaking through and collecting in front of the Town Hall. The police tried to tear off the insignia, resulting in I frequent fights between Czech townspeople and German Brpwnshirts. The police, aided by Czech State police, finally dispersed the crowds. | ■ The Amsterdam correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Company, reports that the Gestapo took special precautionary measures throughout Bohemia and Moravia. The Czech national committee appealed to all Czechs to commemorate the anniversary by wearing black ties and abstaining from alcohol and tobacco. The Berlin Radio announces that the President of Slovakia has appointed a new Ministry under Dr. Tuka.
