Announcing a decision taken in cooperation with the Foreign Office to return to Spain in the course of the next lew weeks every child who can possibly return, the Basque Children's Committee today gave some interesting details of the work of the National Joint Committee for Spanish Relief, the British Committee for Refugees from Spain, and the Basque Children's Committee. : : Since July, 1936—the outbreak of th"c .wai* in Spain-^voluntary organisa[tions throughout the world raised over j £4,500,000. Britain.tops:the list, being ! just ahead of the United States and [France, with a total of £1,000,000. Belt ween the winter, of 1938 and the first S three months of 1939 the National Joint j Committee sent 29 food ships to Spain.
