ARRESTED AFTER CHASE

AUCKLAND, This Day,

Arrested after a chase through native bush in the Domain yesterday afternoon as a result of an allegation by a woman that her bag had been snatched Charles Howard, a half-caste Maori, aged 24, was charged in the Police Court with stealing a bag containing £1 15s, the property of Dora Jane Stade. He was also charged 'with stealing from Alice Kelsey, a Wellington visitor, on Tuesday last a handbag containing money and articles valued at £10. On the application of the police, the accused was remanded to November 8.
