Acceptances for the first cray of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Meeting are due on Monday. Gay Hunting broke down badly in his race at Trentham on Monday and he is to be returned to his owner. Floral Robe has been returned to work at Trentham much benefited from her spell. Beaupartir will again be ridden by L. J. Ellis in the Canterbury Cup. He will be accompanied south by Old Surrey, Sudan, Raeburn, and Sceptre. Aurora's Star has not been racing up to her best form lately, and she is to be put aside for a spell. Blue Steel broke down during the running of the hurdles at the Waikato Hunt Meeting and he has not returned to Awapuni. Quadroon and Florence Mills have both made a rapid recovery from the lameness that prevented their trip to the. Wellington Meeting, and neither will now be spelled.
