KARORI BOWLING CLUB
For the first playing day, after its opening, the Karori -Bowling-Club • ar- , ranged a holiday: tournament for ; members, and the occasion was one of the most successful of its kind in the club ; 's history. Twelve rinks par* ; ticipatQd,,.andpthe:tourriament ; iyas : run on the progressive plan, 'prizes; being ;.* awarded for the most successful leads, No. 2s, 3s, and skips. The winners were:—Lead, H. Taylor; No. 2; W. J. Crocker; No. 3, C Holden; skip, W. Gilbert. For the skip's prize, there was a play-off, Gilbert winning from T. Adams. The state.-of. the green has been a subject of muchs favourable comment, and the surface . promises to, be ..in rriuch better order throughput the sea- -.' son than for some tihae past.; An early start, is being made with the club competitions. The Henderson; Cup event was to have been;"com-, menced today, and entries for tha other competitions are to close on Tuesday.
