ACCIDENT WITH CHISEL

When he fell down a companion way on a ship at the, Clyde Quay Wharf this morning, M. Teague, a joiner, of 173 Riddiford Street, was holding a chisel which cut off the first and second fingers of his left hand. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital.

A remand until next Friday was granted by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today in the case of Fergus Alfred Merrett, aged 28, a slaughterman, wha is. charged with stealing from the Railways Department; copper wire valued at £4 12s 2d. De-tective-Sergeant P. Doyle said that Merrett was arrested yesterday by Detectives Urquhart and Scott.
