CHURCH DEDICATION
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DARGAVILLE, This Day.
The Anglican Church was removed from Hakaru, in the Mangawai parish, to Hukatere, Matakohe, yesterday. Archbishop Averill, in dedicating "St. Michael's on the Hill," congratulated the residents. St. Michael's was his favourite name, he said. It was the name of his first church at Christchurch and of the first church he dedicated as Bishop of the Auckland Diocese. That was at Towai. The present St. Michael's was probably the last church he would dedicate.
A fine of £2 was imposed by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today upon John William Bell, aged 29, a steward, who admitted using obscene language in a city cabaret. He was convicted and discharged for drunkenness.
