. RELIGIOUS SERVICES. CHRISTADE L PH I A N ' ; LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH. (God Willing.) ( 1.0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET (Opp. Paramount, Courtenay Place). SUNDAY, at 7 p.m. Subject: "CAUGHT UP TO MEET THE LORD" "THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROxM HEAVEN . . .. AND THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST; THEN WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT AWAY (see Acts 8:39) TOGETHER WITH THEM IN CLOUDS (see Hebs. 12:1) TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR (i.cAERIAL)". (Paul-1 Thess. 4:16-17). The object of this lecture is to consider the widelyrheld belief in "the rapture of the church," i.e., the belief that Christians" Avill "at any moment" be "caught up" from the earth to meet the Lord "in the air." It'will"be shown from the Scriptures that this belief is a fallacy, (1) BECAUSE Avhen Christ returns, to earth He return's to stay to perform the-"work before Him," i.e., the establishment -of .the'universal Kingdom of God on earth Avith Himself as King,. (Acts 1:11, Acts 3:19-21, Rev. 1:7. Zech. 12:10,- Zech. 13:6, Zech. 14:4, Matt. 23:39, Isa. 40:10, Isa. 62:11, Luke 1:31-33. Rev. 11:15, Zech. 14:9, Act* 17:31) (2) FROM which it folloAvs that those Avho avill be taken to Christ when He comes will not be , "caught up" but "caught aAvay" in "clouds" (not in "this clouds") to meet the Lord in "the air," i.e., "Aerial," here on the earth Avhere Christ is. (Matt. 24:30-31, Matt. 25:31-32, Mark 13:26-27, Luke 17:34-37, 2 Thess; 2:1, Dan. 12:1) ' (3) THAT those so "caught aAvay" at Christ's coming (i.e., not every one AA-ho professes to be a Christian but those only Avho have come to a knoAvledge of the truth whether baptised 1 or unbaptised) are "caught away" to the "judgment seat of Christ" here on earth in order that they may re* ceive "according to what they hay* done. Avhether good or bad." (2 Tim. 4:1, John 12:48, John 9:41, James 4:17, Hebs. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, Matt. 25:3146, 2* Cor. 5:10, Roms. 14:10, Rev. 11:18, Rev. 22:12, Matt. 16:27, 1 John 2:28, 1 Cor. 4:5, 1 Cor. 15:23, 2 Tim. 4:8). (4) THAT those accepted by Christ will ■ be reAA-arded with eternal life and rulership with. Christ in the Kingdom of God. here on earth whilst those rejected (i.e., those Avho have come to a knoAvledge of the truth and haA Te not Avalked in the light) will be punished here on earth by "the second death." (Roms. 6:23, Matt. 25:46, 1 Cor. 15:51-54, Phil. 3:21, 1 John 3:2, Luke 20:35-36, Matt. 25:34, Matt. 13:43, Dan. 7:18. 22, 27, Matt. 19:28, Luk« 22:29-30, Rev. 20:6, Rev. 5:9-10, Rev. 2:26-27,' 1 Cor. 6:2, Rev. 2:11).
