WIDE POWERS IN AUSTRALIA
(Received October 24, 2 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Wide powers to commandeer from private sources anything which might be required for defence purposes have been conferred upon the Defence Department in a Federal proclamation. The regulations provide that any goods not. delivered in accordance with an order by a purchasing officer may be summarily seized by the defence authorities.
