RAYNER LOSES TITLE

Clarrie Rayner, Blenheim, 9st 51b, lost his New Zealand lightweight boxing championship title in the Town Hall to Jack Jarvis, Wellington, 9st .61b, by a knock-out in the thirteenth round. It was a real fighting contest, with both men looking for an opening to finish it as*quickly as possible. In. the earlier, stages Jarvis was more thart orice in difficulties, and it ap-' peared that. Rayner would retain his title by a knock-out. The recuperative powers displayed by Jarvis were i amazing, and he made the bout sensational.
