RAYNER LOSES TITLE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 23. Clarrie Rayner, Blenheim, 9st 51b, lost his New Zealand lightweight boxing championship title in the Town Hall to Jack Jarvis, Wellington, 9st .61b, by a knock-out in the thirteenth round. It was a real fighting contest, with both men looking for an opening to finish it as*quickly as possible. In. the earlier, stages Jarvis was more thart orice in difficulties, and it ap-' peared that. Rayner would retain his title by a knock-out. The recuperative powers displayed by Jarvis were i amazing, and he made the bout sensational.
