SUPPORT FOR CONFERENCE

I Fixed prices for primary produce were discussed at a meeting of mbre than 200 farmers at Waiuku on Saturday night, states the "New Zealand Herald." Mr. A. White, president of the Waiuku branch of the Farmers' Union, presided. The meeting unanimously pledged its support to. the primary producers' conference to be held in Wellington on November 1, it being held that present prices were inadequate to increase production. A resolution was passed unanimously urging the conference to request the Government to abolish the 40-hour week during the war, it being held that such action should have preceded the request to primary producers to make further sacrifices. j
