The time is opportune for the Government Jx> consider complete control of all motor traffic in the Dominion by one authoritly, and not have the multiplicity of regulations and prohibitions that at present obtains, states the Automobile ' Association (Otago). In England and France the police are in sole charge, and traffic control is very much simplified. As the average citizen has a good deal, of faith in the police, and recognises their authority, a great deal of improvement might be looked for if this principle were adopted in New Zealand.
