TIVOLI THEATRE.

"Jezebel" and "Heart of the North."

"Jezebel," a colourful and exciting romantic drama of the South of the U.S.A., shortly before the Civil War. will be the feature attraction on Tuesday at the Tivoli Theatre. Bette Davis is co-starred with Henry Fonda, George Brent, and Margaret Lindsay. Other noted and popular players in the cast include Fay Bainter, Donald Crisp. Richard Cromwell, Henry O'Neill, John Litel, and Spring Byington. Miss Davis is a wilful, spoiled, tempestuous young Dixie belle who achieves the name of the wicked Biblical character Jezebel because she defies Southern tradition. She breaks hearts with dashing unconcern. She smokes, she prefers juleps to sherry—in short, sha is a modern miss in an old-fashioned setting. Outdoor action, thrills, and suspense are the keynotes of the Warner Bros. Technicolor special. "Heart of the North," which will be the second feature. It is a full-bodied picture, combining all the elements that make for superb entertainment. It has adventure, it has romance, it has thrills, it has humour, and it pictures with a loveliness the technicolor camera has never surpassed the wild and little-known country in which its action is laid. Added to all these requirements of the ideal outdoors picture, "Heart of the North" acquires a special interest because of the evident authenticity with which the daily existence and the work of the famous red-coated policemen of the Canadian woods are depicted. Dick Foran heads a large cast.
