SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY

A well-attended rally of Sunday school members and friends was held on Tuesday evening at St. Thomas's Hall, Newtown, when the awards gained, at the recent Scripture examinations were presented. Pupils representing ten schools in the Wellington South area marched to the hall under the leadership of the Newtown Salvation Army Band. Mr. W. F. Stock, president of the Wellington Sunday School Union, presided, Miss R. Elliffe presented the prizes, and the Rev. Cannell Hoskin gave a brief address. Concerted or individual items were provided by the following schools:—St. James's Presbyterian, Wellington South Salvation Army and Church of Christ, Trinity Methodist, Newtown Congregational, Berhampore, Island Bay and Houghton Bay Baptist, Island Bay Presbyterian. Six other rallies of a similar nature are being arranged by the union in various parts of the city and suburbs, and the' interest created by this one raises hopes for a highly successful series.
