RISE IN PRICES
AMERICAN SHARE MARKETS

President Roosevelt made his speech after the Eastern Stock Exchange had closed, but rises in steel and aircraft shares were recorded in the West. United States Steel closed at 814 in San Francisco, compared with 78J at the New York closing. Lockheed Aircraft closed at 30i in Los Angeles, and 30 3-8 in San Francisco, compared with 29 at the New York closing. Dealings on the New York Stock Exchange today totalled 1,730,000 shares.
