NGAIO PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE

A public meeting was called recently at Ngaio and was very well attended. Mr. H. L. Cummings (president of the Ngaio Progressive Association) was in the chair, and gave an explanation of the present position. Mrs. Cummings read a report from the central committee and also gave an outline of the organisation to be set up. The following committee was elected:—Mesdames Cummings, McNab, Hills, Cunningham, Wakelin, Gidall, Campbell, Turksma, Chatwin, Littlejohn, Bringans, Wilman, Irving, Mattingley, Featherston, Davis, E. Hicks, and Miss Lynneberg. Mrs. Cummings was elected chairman, and Mrs. Wakelin was appointed secretary. The committee would be pleased to receive the names of all residents of ' Ngaio willing to assist with knitting and sewing.
