FINE IMPOSED
INTOXICATED DRIVER
A fine of £ 15, with suspension of his licence until May 31 next and a prohibition from dbtaining another for a. further six months thereafter, was the penalty imposed upon William James Reille, a slaughterman, aged 32, who appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with being intoxicated in charge of a car in Majoribanks Street \'i September 16. The accused pleaded not guilty, but after evidence had been heard from both sides the . Magistrate said that the statements made by witnesses for the defence did not explain away the prosecution's case. Sub-Inspector D. J. O'Neill prosecuted, and Mr. J. A. Scott appeared for the defendant. On a charge of driving without a licence, Reille was convicted and discharged. '
A charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car on Brooklyn Road on September 15, preferred against Stanley Ernest Bircham, a painter, aged 47, in the Magistrate's Court today, was dismissed after evidence had been heard before Mr. J, H f Luxford, S.M.
