'NOT TO BE DUPED'

THE FRENCH NATION

NO SEPARATION FROM

BRITAIN

DALADIER SPEAKS

(Ey Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) (Received September 22, 1.15 p.m.) PARIS, September 21. "German propaganda will never separate England and France," declared the Prime Minister, M. Daladier, in a national broadcast. "Frenchmen will not be duped. The whole country has risen indignantly to oppose such clumsy attempts. There are no traitors in France, only courageous soldiers. We know Britain's faith from past experience. Her planes are fighting by our side and her sons are fighting in our trenches. The hundreds of millions of people of the British Empire are working in the common cause. "Show your contempt of German propaganda," he exclaimed, "by ignoring it. I have visited the front and seen our soldiers fighting brave- j Iy. We are not afraid of a long war and firmly believe we will conquer the enemy." He added that, despite the efforts of England. America, and Italy, the destruction of Poland was planned bei forehand, and even now- Russia and Germany were ruthlessly dividing up a loving country. Poland had suffered a terrible martyrdom and displayed great heroism. Her defeat was unavoidable. A secret treaty had encouraged Russia to attack when Poland had succeeded in holding up the first blow. Her dismemberment was planned beforehand, while Herr Hitler pretended that his demands were limited to the Polish Corridor and a few motor roads. '"Who can now believe Herr Hitler's peaceful intentions when he has just proved his violence and ruthlessness?" M. Daladier asked. "This is his war." He then quoted a long list of treaties which Germany had torn up, adding: "Hitler says he asks nothing from France, but Frenchmen know he will not fail to try to destroy France, like Austria and Czecho-Slovakia. France will never allow domination by force and will never allow soldiers to burn towns and kill women and children.",
