A semi-official statement gives the ansAver to a question Avhich has been in many minds: "What have Aye done to help Poland?" A high authority crystallised the Government'? policy thus: "The only Avay in Avhich Aye are able to help Poland is by Avinning the Avar. We cannot help Poland by embarking on some great effort involving considerable losses Avhich Avould ultimately diminish our chances of Avinning the Avar."
