I Rewa.—The "lest method for keeping potatoes free from "blight" is to spray with Bordeaux mixture at intervals of three weeks, taking care that they are thoroughly wetted each time Soaking them in r.erosene would probably keep off insect pests such as wire worms but would be rather risky. 1 should think. House or bedroom slops contain a large proportion of ammonia and act as a stimulant to growth. For flowers it is quite good but it is not a very nice idea to use it on vegetables which are to be eaten. This material should be diluted with five times its'own bulk of water. H.S.W. —The leaf and flower sent for identification are of a strawberry— probably a seedling plant or a wild strawberry. The plant should not prove any trouble to keep in control.
