LATE SIR W. HUNT

PRIVATE FUNERAL

The funeral, which was private, ox Sir William Hunt, chairman .and, managing director of Messrs. Wright. Stephenson and Co., Ltd., took place early this morning. A short service was held in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, and this was conducted by the Rev. Canon D. J. Davies, who also officiated at the Crematorium, Karort Cemetery. .. ~ The chief mourners were the widow. Lady Hunt, the two sons, Mr. Johns. Hunt and Mr. William E. Hunt, and Mr B. D. McFarland, son-in-law, Mrs. H Thynne and Miss Edwards, sisters-in-law, and Mr. F. D: Burnett, nephew. The pall-bearers at the church were Messrs. John and William Hunt, David Allan, F. D. Burnett, J. T. Martin, and R. Nichol. At the crematorium those who acted as pall-bearers were Messrs. R. D. McFarland, John Macdonald, E. L. Officer, H. A. Price, W. M. Shand, and S. C. Sutherland. A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Sir William Hunt was carried at the monthly meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce last night. The president (Captain S. Holm) said that the city was the poorer for the loss of Sir William, who was one of nature's gentlemen.
