PERIOD OF STUDY
BAPTIST BIBLE CLASSES
The Baptist Bible Classes of Wellington have just completed a period of intensive service, witness, and study in common with the rest of the denomination throughout the Dominion. Bible Class/week is designed to bring the aims arid claims of the movement before the people of the Church and also to provide a special time of selfexpression for the youth. It commenced with a meeting for leaders on August 29 .at Island Bay, when Mr. J. J. Burt gave a talk on "How We Can Improve Our Class Meetings," which was followed by discussion and a devotional session. The annual rally was held on September 3 at Vivian Street Church. The Rev. L. A. North addressed a good number of young people on "What Really is it to be a Christian?" and provided the key to a fitting start of Bible Class Week proper. One of the most outstanding functions was the reunion dinner and evening in the National Art Gallery Tearooms for the men of the churches. After roll call of past and present members of the Wellington Bible Class Executive, musical items and reminiscences by some of the older Bible Class men. the Rev. B. N. Eade spoke on some of the problems confronting Christians today. Mr. Eade, who is on furlough from the mission field, brought to his subject the mind of a man who has done much valiant service in India and who understands the Indian problems.
Reports show that the meetings organised by individual classes have been an outstanding success, high, lights particularly being the last Sunday night of the week; when members of the Bible Class conducted the service, and fellowship meetings held in the nomes of members. Other activities included hikes, lantern lectures, prayer meetings, and various types of socials.
