RED CROSS AT JOHNSONVILLE
A large meeting of residents of Johnsonville was held recently for the purpose of forming a branch of the Red Cross Society, Mr. H. D. Morgan, chairman of the Town Board, presided, and Dr. A. Gillies and Captain M. S Galloway, from the Wellington centre, addressed those present on the aims and objects of the movement.
The following committee was elected:—President. Mrs Alex Moore; vicepresidents. Mesdames Morgan. Wright, and Mr. Morgan: executive, Mesdames Mills. R. Hogg. W. J. Angell. Riddell, Cook. D. Sloane. Glass. Johnson, Perryman, Engel, and Miss Mildenhall; hon. secretary, Miss Priest; hon. treasurer. Mrs. Liddle.
The executive met after the meeting and laid down its plan of campaign. Instructional classes for members will commence at an early date. Thanks were expressed to Mr. Symonds for the use of the hall and his undertaking to make it available for the work of the branch when it is not otherwise engaged. Mr Morgan and the speakers were also thanked.
