MEETING IN FRANCE
EXCHANGE OF VIEWS
FUTURE MEASURES
COMPLETE UNANIMITY
(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.) (Received September 13, 9 a.m.) PARIS, September 12. It is officially announced that the Allied Supreme Council met "somewhere in France" today. Mr. Chamiberlain and M. Daladier attended. - The office of the French Premier issued the statement that it was decided to concentrate all the resources of the Allied Powers on the war and to - give Poland all possible assistance. The Ministry of Information states that the meeting was for the purpose iof "making possible a direct perjsonal exchange of views on the preisent situation and on measures to [be taken in the immediate future."
Giving No. 10 Downing Street as the source of its information, the Ministry said that the British and French representatives at the meeting were "completely unanimous" on the war plans and added: "Britain and France have now got down to brass tacks and have made. it plain for the world to see that they are tackling the job in deadly earnest." A message from Paris states that the fact that the meeting was taking place was unknown until M. Daladier returned to Paris. It, was said that Mr. Chamberlain requested it in order to have the Allies take a firm and final position regarding the question of separate peace with the
Germans,
It reported that the question of Italy's position as a neutral was also discussed.
Marshal Gamelin and Lord Chatfield were present.
Mr. Chamberlain and Lord Chatfield flew to France and back in an R..A.F. machine.
