SLOVAKS REFUSE DUTY
WILL NOT FIGHT POLES
A BATTALION INTERNED
(Received September 13, 11 a.m.)
LONDON, September 12
It is reported from Bratislava that a Slovak battalion refused to entrain for Poland, the officers and men saying they would not fight the Poles. • The battalion was disarmed and interned in barracks. Tile Germans have forbidden flights by Slovak airmen, ostensibly because the Germans are not familiar with their planes and might shoot them down, but reglly because numbers have deserted to Poland.
