(Special to the "Evening Post.") LEVIN, September 12. • The annual spring flower show of the Levin Horticultural Society was held today. In spite of the unfavourable weather of the last few weeks the dis-. play was well up to the average. The winner of the Rundle Rose Bowl for most points in section 1 (cut flowers) ■ was Mrs. L. J. Hunter. The Kebbell Trophy for most points in. section &_ (narcissi) went to Mrs.. F. R. Wright, while in section 3 (decorative classes). the Linklater Cup was won. by. Mrs. D. K. Guy. There was an-excellent attendance. . ' . . '. (Special to the 'Evenino Post.'M OTAKI, This Day. - The Otaki Horticultural Society's daffodil show was held yesterday, when there was an excellent display. Mr. H. Witchell exhibited some" very choice i blooms and secured championship .hon--ours. The cut-.-■ bloom class -\vas' ra:: \ pleasing one, while the decorative section exceeded expectations.. The cookery class was small numerically but good in quality, while a feature of the show was the exhibit of school work by children of the Otaki State School. Mr. Atmore, president, in his/opening remarks, made special reference to this class. The array of daffodils, he said, was probably the best ever seen in the district.
