BILLIARDS
The Wellington B grade amateur billiards championship was won last night by J. Moynahari (Paramount Billiard Room), who defeated W. C. Higginson (G.P.O. Social and Literary Club), 500-339. The best breaks were: Moynahan, 32. 29, 25, 21; Higginson, 63. The chairman of the Wellington Billiards Association, Mr. A. Cohen, presented the winner with a gold medal. W. C. Higginson received a trophy as runner-up, and D. Bryce (V.M.C.A.), who. made the highest break outside the finalists, received an award.
Owing to the presence of Horace Lin drum, the famous young snooker champion, in exhibition games in Wellington next week, it has been decided to postpone the annual Wellington open billiards championship to Monday. September 25. The schedule' for these games is as follows:—-Monday,: Petersen v. Moses. Armstrong v. McMillan. Tuesday: Duncan v. Simpson, Sim v. Stout. Wednesday, semi-finals. The final will be played on September 28.
